Why Having Strong Clear Packing Tape is Important

Let’s face facts, the last thing anyone wants is weak tape. We’ve all had that experience using tape only for it to fail at its one singular purpose: keeping itself together. Some tape doesn’t even stick to all surfaces properly, making it less desirable. So, why should you opt for strong tape? Does it provide more than face-value strength?

Assisting in the tape’s ability to meet weight resistance demands is how long the adhesive remains sticky. Many glues are meant for specific purposes only. Water-soluble glue, for example is not meant to encounter water as this will effectively dissolve the glue. Similarly, you don’t want packing tape that uses cheap glue, as any manner of things might undo the adhesive, leaving the tape useless.

Since we mentioned that you DON’T want water soluble glue on packing tape, we should also mention that you DO want clear waterproof tape. Whether you’re moving boxes and an unexpected rainfall starts, or you need to tape something that you know for certain will come into contact with water, the clear adhesive tape shouldn’t lose strength because of it. So, make sure you get waterproof tape and save yourself from future headaches.
