Is a DC59 the same as a Dyson V6?

Yes. The DC58, DC59, DC61 and DC62 were the original names before Dyson rebranded the range as V6 in 2015, and the SV03, SV04 and SV09 codes appear on later V6 machines. They all take the same 21.6V battery pack, so any battery in this collection fits.

How do I change the battery on a Dyson V6?

Remove the two screws holding the pack, one behind the handle and one under the front of the battery, then slide it out. Push the new battery in until it clicks and refit the screws. Charge fully before use. The job takes a few minutes with a Phillips screwdriver and no special tools.

Why does my new V6 battery flash when charging?

A blue flashing light while on charge is normal and means the pack is charging; it goes solid or turns off when full. A rapid red or amber flash indicates a fault or a battery that is too hot or cold. Let it sit at room temperature and try again, and contact support@officecatch.com.au if it persists.
